Trespass
~ Magone Marine requested officer assistance with a
non-employee who made himself at home in an unoccupied room on their
barge. The unidentified sleeper had disappeared by the time the officer
arrived.
Theft
~ An officer was flagged down by an inebriated man
waving an empty pitcher, and upon asking the man about the pitcher was
told that it was a souvenir he had stolen from the bar. Bar staff was
more upset about being tipped with Canadian currency than about the
theft, and was satisfied that the thief was ordered to walk back to the
bar, in quite inclement weather, to return the pitcher.
That'll learn him, amiright?
Theft
~
Caller reported that all of his belongings,
including his wallet, a check for $5000 and some sleeping pills, had
been stolen from his hotel room during the night. An officer responded
to the caller’s room and quickly located both the wallet and the check
in the room. The caller, who had a surprising inability to remember
anything at all about the previous night, was grateful for the
assistance.
Let's be honest: is anyone here really surprised by that? :)
Disorderly Conduct
~ Officers contacted a customer who had created a
disturbance inside the bank when his fishing license was not accepted as
a form of identification.
Welfare Check ~ Caller reported a blue-shirted man wobbling along
in the roadway near the Unalaska Post Office. An officer contacted the
man and provided him with transport to his residence 100 yards away.
Could have been a red shirt - then he'd have been in REAL trouble!
Traffic Crime
~ An officer contacted a driver who was weaving
across two lanes of traffic with its hazard lights activated, and
discovered that her husband was teaching her to drive.
Yes, and so well, too...

Oh... That last one brings back memories... shudder...
Rev. Paul,
The last offense made me laugh, learning how to drive......all over the road. Was this person thinking they were in a bumper car, lol.....
NFO - I hear you; we taught both of our daughters to drive, and I was ever so glad when that was done.
Sandy - given it was a husband and wife, there could be several reasons. :)
Wonder how many nationalities, ethnic groups, and behavioral norms the Unalaska police must deal with during fishing seasons? Must make the UN building in NYC look homogeneous.
WSF, that's a good point. They do seem to get their fair share of foreign national workers during fishing season.
Those stories are always a treat - thanks for sharing them with us!
You're most welcome, ma'am. :)
I have GOT to go visit that place someday.
It's only a couple hours from Anchorage, by air. Come on up!
