The weather-lady on the NBC affiliate said we're having the "coldest cold snap of the decade."
At 6:20 p.m., it was -8 at the airport, -16 at my place, and she reported -23 at the Campbell Creek Science Center, not too far from here.
The Mat-Su Valley's celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Statehood was postponed due to the cold, until next weekend. It was only -18 there this afternoon.
We're to have a high of about -11 tomorrow. I know I'm going on about the weather, but our high today was 30 degrees below normal.
They still think we'll finally get above zero by early next week. I don't know how long it will be before we get back into the "normal" range, but January is the coldest month of the winter, so it doesn't look good.
Pass me the blanket, would you? I'll get another log for the fire.
