Warm Monday - At Last

Good morning, world!

It's 17 degrees above, at the airport, and about 14 here. The frost on the windows has mostly melted already, and we're going to be about normal for our daytime high - in the low 20s. I'll have to remember how to dress for normal temps; it's nearly 40 degrees warmer now than it was just 5 days ago.

It appears that the cold air has travelled southeast, and is descending upon the eastern half of the Lower 48. Sorry, folks: blame it on the jet stream.

There's not much going on, at least according to the local news. The school district is wanting to place another $97M in bond issues on the April ballot. Property taxes are already quite high, here, and I won't be surprised if the population doesn't support this one.

That's about it from here ... stay warm & safe.

UPDATE, 4:50 P.M. It got up to around 20 today. I wore an unlined jacket, mainly to keep the breeze off, and had the novel experience of turning the heat down in the truck. For the last few weeks, I've been wishing it had a warmer setting.

The promise of 2" to 3" of snow was as empty as most of Accu-Hunch's guesses. We got a very light dusting overnight, and I did see a few tiny flakes swirling around in the breeze this afternoon.

I also noted that there is discernible daylight at 4:30 in the afternoon. So even as we head into the coldest months of the winter, the promise of a coming spring is there.
