UPDATE: The volcano erupted again, at 8:40 this morning. This ash plume went only to 50,000 feet, and the winds will bring some of that here, although the bulk of the ash-fall appears to be going due north (to the west of us).
Since it's snowing heavily now, the snow will encapsulate most of the ash on its way down, limiting any danger.
Mt. Redoubt continues to erupt, spewing more ash into the atmosphere. Local aviation has been grounded, as well as most flights in/out of Stevens Int'l. Airport.
There is ash falling to the north, west, and south of Anchorage, but not so much here in town. AccuHunch tells us there are trace amounts contained in the snow that fell overnight.
The temps are already in the low 30s, so the snow on the cars should melt off soon. That's a good thing, since the ash tends to be acidic, and I'd rather it didn't eat the finish off the paint jobs.
My tenants continue to rely on me to be up-to-date on ash fall reports, the latest eruption(s), and wind direction/speed. I think they'd prefer that we close the building this morning, so they could have an early weekend(!).
On a personal note, last night was the first time since Saturday that I've been allowed to sleep for more than 4 hours without being awakened by phone calls. Maybe I won't have to do the 'walking zombie' routine today ...
Y'all keep safe & have as much fun as the law allows!
