Wednesday Ends & Odds

Who says the Odds always get to be first? Of course, some Odds are more odd than others, but still ...

Mt. Redoubt produced another minor explosive eruption this morning at 5:12, but apparently a much smaller cloud of ash was produced. The cloud only reached 15,000 feet.

The GOOD news is that the ash is drifting northwest, away from populated areas. (The bad news is that this could continue for months.)

JUNEAU -- Top Alaska legislators said Tuesday they're likely to accept at least most of the federal economic stimulus money that Gov. Sarah Palin did not. Read about the greed.

The atmosphere-watchers are reporting that a minute amount of "very fine" ash has made its way into the Anchorage area. Apparently it showed up on an "air sniffer", although no one else has mentioned it. I'm guessing it hasn't caused any problems, thus far.

**************************

It's early in the day, and I'm sure there will be more news. Stay tuned!
