Cool and Rainy in Anchorage

Just a little note, at the end of the workday.

It's been in the 40s all day, and has been raining lightly since early yesterday. There's fresh snow on the mountains, down to about 1800 feet. That's when the clouds lift long enough to see the mountains, three miles away.

Two days ago, it was sunny and 68. Today's temp is the norm, though.

On a bright note, my truck is all fixed & back in my possession (yay!). The battery had shorted out (no more Wal-Mart batteries for me), and the resulting low-voltage situation convinced the computer that the EGR pressure valve needed replacing.

Those things have been addressed, the "check engine" light is off, and all's right in my little corner of the world.

TEST: Come up with a concept that's less useful than "check engine" for vehicle maintenance. (Hint: this may not be possible.)

It has been cold and rainy here for a week. I am sick of it. When is summer coming? I want some global warming.

DR, we've had about seven weeks of sunny, abnormally warm weather averaging about 10 degrees above normal. No one here is complaining.

We need rain to keep the forest from burning, and to hold the dush/ash down. It's a good thing - for us, anyway.

I hope you get the sunshine you want.

Been raining here for the last 3 days. The plants and trees love it, but I could go for a bit of dryness... LOL.

The check engine light was invented to give auto dealership service departments lots of business. Heh.

With regards to your bright note. Last week my truck died. Its a wonderful f150 from 1991 that runs great, but I left the dome light on by mistake and the battery died. When I tried to jump the truck I learned that it would jump but that the battery wouldn't hold a charge. However this battery did a decent job during its life with me. My father got it out of a dumpster back in 95 and its been in the truck since then. But with my new battery from Wal Mart the truck has ran great.
