Monday Afternoon Update

Well, let's see ...

There was a moose playing in traffic this morning, which made a bunch of us hit the brakes rather abruptly on the way to work.

The sun is shining again today, even though AccuHunch forecast clouds. It's that type of

It's 48, which is about three degrees below normal. Even though it's a big change from the 70 on Saturday, it doesn't feel much different. A little humidity, or bit of a breeze here can make the oddest-seeming sensations.

Even the left-leaning Daily News has had enough of the anti-Sarah Palin crowd. They opine, today, that the raving moonbats filing all the ethics complaints are abusing the system (duh ... ya think?). Read the editorial here, if you like.

Some local folks are trying to get a largish group of gun-owners to participate in "open carry" days in Anchorage, as they have in Fairbanks. 'bout time, is what I say. I'll be happy to participate. Nearly everyone here carries a pistol, mostly concealed. Open carry is legal, state-wide, so why not? If a few liberal loons get offended ... tough.

Guns are a fact of life, here - as are large predators which have been known to occasionally eat people; hence the firearms. They're just tools, folks.

And last, but NOT least, little green leaves are popping out on the trees, all over town. YAY - SUMMER!!
