Sunday Afternoon

At the request of the LTW (lovely, thoughtful wife), we made the rounds of every furniture store in Anchorage today. That's excepting the ones with $10,000 couches. With that kind of money, you could
  • buy a used car,
  • fund a small revolution, or
  • start a third-world country.

What we discovered is that what we liked best is the set we found yesterday, at our first stop. But you never know until you look.

And after all, as the LTW explained, "I like the hunt."

Congratulations! My husband and I waited 20 years to buy bedroom furniture. I was looking at the set I wanted for 5 years before we could afford it.

Wouldn't you know, after we finally decided to buy the furniture, he wants to go check out other bedroom sets. Eventually he decided I was right and this was the best set for us. LOL.

I'm so glad you found some you really like - that's the important thing.

Metro? Oh man I could have told you to stay away from that place.

Good luck on the furniture.

See ya tomorrow.

Teresa, we had finally gotten a non-hand-me-down matching bedroom suite six months before we moved to Alaska. We sold or gave away ALL our furniture before we moved here, due to the expense. Now after six years here, we're getting around to nice things for ourselves.

Uppy, the girls had dropped in on Metro a few years ago, when they were just killing time. Given the prices, LTW wouldn't let the daughters even sit on the couches. That's why we didn't go, this time - we've know how high their prices are.

A fast forward button may have been helpful on that search;-) It took me a year to pick out the sofa I wanted, so you're doing pretty good.

You know what new bedroom furniture means? New comforter, sheets, curtains.....

SR - we replaced all the other furniture first, so our bedroom is the last room to be done.

Deedee - we bought all new bedding & curtains two weeks ago, but LTW isn't sure the new comforter will go with the suite we selected. So you're right; stand by for Round Two!
