Monday

It's raining again, and will probably rain for the next several days. We can use it. The forest around Anchorage is dry as tinder, and has been awaiting only a spark.

The wildfires up north (near Nenana) have consumed about 200,000 acres, and there was a flare-up along the southern boundary yesterday. I hope these rains make it there. According to the local news, more than 400 wildfires have burned over one million acres so far this year.

MOBro, my co-author here, will be flying up to spend a week, in three weeks' time. Except for a lunch in 2007, we haven't spent any time together in over six years. It will be great to catch up ... and to show off my part of Alaska to him.

That's all for now - time to get ready for work. Have a great day, y'all!
