Global Colding, Redux

Good morning. It's -6 at my place this morning, and there are reports of -22 a little farther up the mountainside. It's much colder outside of town. No additional snow, though; what's on the ground will help keep things from freezing too hard, but more would be a better insulator. For the record, the normal low for today would be 15 above. Normal high would be 27, but our high today will remain in the single digits; at least it will be above zero.

The frost gets thicker, of course, and is beginning to look like a light snowfall.

One good thing about the temps we're experiencing is that my truck will at least warm up on the way to work. Even with the block heater plugged in overnight, when we get into the -20 range, the 6.5 mile drive doesn't allow time for the engine to achieve a normal operating temp.

I'm going to take some pictures showing the cold, after the sun comes up, and will post anything that turns out well.

Have a great day, folks.
