My Missouri friend Dana had a wedding for a step-daughter on his farm, yesterday. I haven't heard from him about how it went, but I did note the weather was mostly sunny with a high in the 60s. Should have been good; I know he was worried mostly about whether it would rain on the festivities.

There's an interesting letter to the editor in today's Daily News, regarding the ongoing budget talks in the city Assembly. Excerpt:
People who work hard and live responsibly will always have more than those who do not. It is the right and responsibility of those who have to help those who have not, but government does not have the authority to take anything from one person to give to another. Redistribution of wealth is robbery, and robbery is wrong whether it be at the barrel of a gun or by taxes.
Anchorage Assembly, stop trying to right all the wrongs in the city and just do your job!
Yeah, what she said! Congress, are you listening?

I'm not sure what I'll do today. I had intended to spend some time at the range, but the morning temp has me reluctant to stir. Or maybe it's just a bit of sloth; either way, the idea of venturing out into single-digit temps doesn't much appeal, this morning.
Y'all have a great day.

With very minor revisions, that letter to the editor applies to the folks in the fifty state houses and in the federal government as well.
