Good morning!
It's a balmy 21 degrees in Anchorage at 10:45 a.m., making us one of the warm spots. This is our normal high for today. Of course, Algore's not been here since he was in office, so the global cooling he ushers in hasn't affected us.
I've spent the last couple of hours getting the truck's fluids changed and/or re-filled, emissions inspected, tags renewed, and the dirt/ice/sludge/road grime chipped off, washed & waxed. In other words, it has been an expensive morning.
But "expensive" is a relative term, you see. My wife is heading out to survey the furniture scene, as we haven't yet found a bedroom suite we like. Hope springs eternal, so she's going to see what has come in for January. I won't be surprised if she calls me from this place or that, wanting me to come see what she's found. UPDATE: She did, I looked, and we bought.
Speaking of automotive maintenance, she just discovered that the one keyhole to open the car (why there's only one door with a key entrance on a four-door sedan totally escapes me) is frozen & won't turn. A little WD-40 took care of the icing inside the lock, so she's off to make a furniture merchant's Saturday worthwhile.

I've been wanting to shoot video of our favorite places & sights, and my youngest needs a school project to complete her sophomore year. I've recruited her to make a list of all the places we like to visit, so we can start getting footage* of those. The narrative script will come later, after I have movies to edit.
Once that is all complete, I'll make DVDs for friends & family Outside.

A friend in Missouri was urging me to visit the range this weekend, and it occurs to me it's been awhile since I took my new rifle out for a spin. I think that's a good plan for tomorrow.
In the meantime, the sun is about to climb above the mountains, and the clouds have cleared, so it might even be sunny today. That would be a nice change. The picture above was taken 11:10 a.m. today.
Thanks for stopping by, friends; have a GREAT weekend.
*Is it still called footage when no film is involved? Bytes? Files? Bytage? Fileage? Whatever.

That's a great looking picture on your header. Makes me understand why folks would deal with the minus temperatures you get up there. (Of course, it ws far colder her than there today, but you know what I mean.)
Sounds like you and your daughter will have a great list for some blog posts!
I love your new header picture. That is absolutely spectacular. Stay warm and safe. It's a balmy 14 here.
Oooo new bedroom suite. That's always fun. Fun, and expensive!
We will need a hutch for our sideboard when we move full time to N.Idaho. It's from Copenhagen so I'm saving up and might be able to afford it by the time Patrick retires in 4 years.
