My friend Upinak is now writing posts on the Alaskan Preppers Network and has a piece up about her summer gardening plans.
Growing a garden up here is a bit trickier in some regards than in the Lower 48. We have a short growing season - approximately 100 days - but some of those days have 22 hours of sunlight.
If you're of the 'green thumb' bent, or just into preparedness for whatever comes down the proverbial pike, go on over & give it a look. It's a national network, with a site for each state, as well as a national forum.

Misread that at first. I was thinking "jalapenos in Alaska? How's she gonna manage that one?"
:)

You have a devious mind. I LIKE it!
LOL! But, I HAVE actually grown peppers late summer. Jalapenos as well as some green and yellow.
