A 70-year-old, 5-foot-3 California woman landed a 380-pound halibut on a charter out of Sitka last week. It took 45 minutes of fighting the fish and a "cavalry" of assistants to get LaVerne Glover's catch aboard the Kingfisher Charters boat, reports the Ventura County Star.

When Mike Henry of Palmer started raising goats, he quickly got frustrated trying to milk the does. They repeatedly kicked over buckets, and he had a hard time getting the flow started. A tinkerer, Henry put together a milking gizmo that he's now shipping worldwide through his Web site, reports The Associated Press.
