Good morning. It's 45 degrees with clear blue skies. The sun has been up for about 3 hours, and we'll have a high of 66 today ... or so AccuHunch opines.
The three bicyclists who were attacked by a mama grizzly on Wednesday are telling their stories.
Excerpt: Tyler Nord doesn't remember the moment the grizzly pounced on him. He couldn't tell you what her breath smelled like or how soft her fur was. All he remembers is summoning the adrenaline that was coursing through his body to his legs to push her off.

The
Discovery Channel is coming to Alaska, to create a series about our bush pilots. I hope they go into the history of these brave men & women who have done this for over 80 years.

In today's editorials, one person is proposing that, if gas prices become "more than humanity can bear", the roads should be closed to all but walkers, bikes, and small cars from 8 to 9 each morning. The writer doesn't seem to care about those who report to work at 9:00 ... or else thinks that she can dictate to them what size vehicle they should operate, because, she says, "Anyone driving anything larger would have to wait". Right.
You know, there's a reason why Alaskans tend to drive SUVs and pickups ... and nearly all have 4WD. Here's a clue: it's cold, white, and falls thickly in the winter. Your average electric car doesn't do well in -20 degree weather with three feet of snow on the ground, either.
Just sayin'.

The airwaves are currently filled with frequent repetitions of Sen. Murkowski's conservative credentials. Yup. Sure. If she's so "conservative", then why does the commercial say words to the effect of, "Lisa will vote against any form of cap & trade that doesn't help Alaska"?
Here's a hint:
we don't want ANY form of cap & tax. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Why should we pay yet another tax for heating our homes? What part of "
taxed enough already" do you not understand?
Perhaps the Senator has already been in D.C. too long; she seems to have forgotten that it gets cold up here.

That's my rant. Have a great weekend!

Lol my wife just asked me what I was laughing at. I love the comment about the thick white stuff falling from the sky that may not be congruent with the use of an electric car. Keep up the good fight.
