- about today's primary election. To say the electorate is "energized" is to damn with faint praise. I got to the precinct a few minutes before it opened, and had to stand in line for a bit. But the most interesting aspect was that the election judges seemed tense ... these are the retired folks who typically are laughing and joking, discussing from where they should order lunch, and whether to make more coffee. This morning, not so much: they were terse and sounded upset. When I left, the parking lot was full, and there were cars driving around, looking for a spot. I'm guessing the judges had been warned to expect a heavy turnout.
- about the weather. It was clear and 41 degrees at my place when I left, although AccuHunch guesses we'll be crowding 70 by dinnertime. The warmest part of the day, here, tends to be around 5 pm. It takes the weak northern sun that long to do its heating.
- about the headers I've featured recently. The moose is on summer vacation and will return soon, give or take a week or two ... or three.
In the meantime, enjoy the scenery. Kthnxbye!

Love some of the new headers you've been featuring. Gives a good deal of flavor-of-Alaska feel to the site. Especially today's feature of the boat marina with the (very) low hanging clouds.
