... I has it again.
My setup uses a static IP for access to the HVAC & lighting controls for my building. The technician's instruments first indicated that the IP was in use ... and then that it was "dead", whatever that meant.
He changed the IP on the PC and printer, and everything is working once more. The thing is, he said, that the IP shouldn't have needed changing. He's on the case.
I'm just happy to have the intertubez again. Happy days.

I had a similar problem with my IP, but we were able to reset it here through our maintenance program. It is amazing how quickly we become dependent on the internet. When I have to go a day without it I am about ready to bounce off the walls. It makes the threat of an EMP very scary.
It's really a PITA when the internet is down. You think of all the things you want to do online... all the things you can't think of when you do have access. LOL.
I'm glad he got it fixed for you. Changing IP's is pretty easy - I have no idea what in the world he means by a "dead IP"... that's a term I've never heard before - but perhaps it means something to him.
