Cold Air, Gunpowder & Glenn Beck

It's 38 degrees this morning; had to close the windows down a bit, when we got up.

Big-Boomer-Alaska-Style Dept: From today's Daily News...
TALKEETNA -- Talkeetna's only physician came within about 20 minutes of losing his life early Tuesday morning when a faulty stove pipe and 47 pounds of gunpowder in his log cabin clinic caused an explosion that blew out the back door and incinerated most of the building. [my emphasis added]
Talkeetna is a small village 120 miles northwest of Anchorage, a popular jumping-off point for flightseeing tours of Denali National Park/Mt. McKinley, river-rafting & other activities including catching a train to Fairbanks.

Let's-Rip-Him-a-New-One Dept: Glenn Beck will be appearing at the convention center in Anchorage on Saturday. The local paper (linked above) has jumped on the "let's bash Beck" bandwagon ... yesterday they published a hit piece asking what Anchorage can expect from the appearance. Did they interview him? (He's vacationing in Alaska, this week.) Did they contact his staff or agent, or other representative?

No, of course not.

Like good liberals everywhere, they interviewed an author who published a book decrying Beck's "nonsense", and asked the author what Beck will say.
I'm sure he'd know ... just like I'm sure the paper would appreciate another link to the hate piece.

I have been telling the story of the gun powder and the stove pipe since I read it here. Good thing he needed bleach!
