Frosty

Alaskans are acclimated to a cooler climate ... no surprise, that. We have been sleeping with the bedroom window open since forever, and being in Alaska didn't change that.

But there's a point each winter where the nighttime temp drops too low to allow that. It's not that we don't want the cool, fresh air ... that's not it at all. When I have to really lean into it to break the ice and frost on the sill just to get the window closed in the morning, then it's time to leave it closed.

It's only 11 degrees this a.m., and we've already had colder overnight temps, but this morning was this winter's first instance of frozen-window syndrome. We'll have to take a blanket off the bed and get used to sleeping in a warmer room. Dang it.

I like yesterday's quote of the day, perhaps because it addresses something I have been thinking about a lot as I watch the goings on in our nation and even here in our own county. There has to be some explanation for what is happening.
And we are about the same temp as you...brrr...

Our low was down there last night even though we ended up in the 20's today. Um... no open windows for me. I like a small fan blowing, but damn that's just a bit too cold for fresh outside air!
