But perhaps it's the controversy itself that we should be talking about.
As just one example, it's not the hand-up-your-skirt or hand-down-your-pants TSA agent that's the problem - it's the creeping encroachment of nanny-statism that has led to Big Brother telling us that it's for our own safety.
As if TSA had ever actually, you know, caught a terrorist. They haven't.
What they have done is molest our wives and daughters, terrorizing small children along the way. What they have done is tell us that they're taking naked porno pictures of anyone they wish, whether we like it or not.
It's for our safety, they insist.
Ask yourself exactly what happened, and when, that made nudity a requirement for boarding an airplane.
Don't let them tell you that the "underwear bomber" is the reason. They now admit, when pressured, that the body scanners won't detect that type of explosive.
And if that doesn't make you angry enough to chew nails, then you're either blindly unaware or comatose. In the case of those who think it's a good thing, or who proclaim loudly to any camera in their vicinity that they don't mind - that they're okay with it, as long as it keeps them "safe" ... they, and those who have made such measures a requirement, are the problem.
It's the mind-set that we're talking about ... the one that makes Big/Bigger/Biggest Government the answer to all our problems.
That mind-set that has taken many of our liberties away ... that has made this country nigh-unrecognizable to anyone over the age of 40.
That mind-set that has quadrupled the national debt in just two years ... that has declared Christians and veterans to be potential terrorists ... that has now said that shopping malls are the next area where airport-style security is needed.
Really? You want to be x-rayed naked, just to go shopping?
So 2011 will see a number of Tea Party-backed Representatives arriving in Congress. The House is now to be controlled by the GOP.
Does anyone really think that's a solution? Or just a stopgap? Will things really get better?
Ask yourself that last question, seriously. If your answer is "no" ... what are you doing about it?
* * * * *
However, on this holiday, we need to not only look back, but look forward. There's no better way to do that than to take the admonition of II Chronicles 7:14 to heart ...
"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Think on that ... and then pray like our nation depends on it ... because it does.

Well said, Paul.
Time to keep a close watch upon those elected last November and work like heck to repalce those that fail the test of listening to their bosses--us.
