A Very Shooty Christmas (and the Day After)

Highlights of yesterday's gifts from the girls to me include Crimson Trace grips for my 1911, a shooting rest for my rifle, and a 20x-60x spotting scope. Probably because I'm not quite as young as I once was, it's getting harder to pick out those .270" holes in the paper from 100+ yards away.

The coolest part is that my wife had already picked up the scope a week before I mentioned to her that it would be nice to have one.

The Dremel tool with the 220-pc accessory kit didn't hurt, either.

The day itself is NOT about how much you receive, but I didn't want the thoughtful gifts to go unremarked.

I hope you had a great day, too.

Now I'm set to work on the broken electric cord on my truck's block heater. List of items needed: stool, space heater, wire stripper, wire nuts, electrical tape, and patience.  Oh yes, a coat & gloves, too ... it's only 11 degrees in the driveway. The heater will keep my fingers flexible; the tape will stay in my shirt pocket, to be kept similarly flexible by body heat.

Since you've read this far, here's a picture of our sunrise:
