My only comment is, where was the supervision? This guy was pointing the muzzle at his own chest, while wrestling with a loaded pistol. Why didn't anyone notice?

Indeed. I adhere to the no live ammunition rule in my classes.
Article doesn't say whether the class was in a classroom or on the range. Either one, this is an obvious rule failure. "Rule 2: Never point a weapon at something you do not want to destroy or kill."
