Never Heard of the Internet

I just rec'd an open house invite which says they're serving "hour devours". Does that mean the food will all be gone in 60 minutes? Or have they never heard of hors d'oeuvres?
(Or spell checker, Google, or the cortex in general?)

OMNES VULNERANT. POSTUMA NECAT.

Often translated as "all minutes wound; the last kills".

I suggest that the open house invitation was not offering food, but was warning you to seize the day....because, after all, if mere minutes wound, then hours devour.

Or Horse Doovers. Or like all the people who say Viola! when they actually mean Voilá!

Bob, I almost included horse doovers in my post.

TJIC, perhaps invitees are being asked to "carpe noctem", given the time of the open house. Still, if the food is to die for, that merely strengthens my resolve to skip the event.

They could have been serving "our derbs!"

I think it's talking about the internet actually. Maybe you show up and there's a screen linked to wikipedia or tvtropes or som'n.
