Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about the situation for a minute ... he then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"

The old man simply replied, "The one you feed."

There's wisdom in those words.

The first seems to be stronger; the second needs to fight harder...

Wow, that is really profound. I like it!

True in every sense, however, we can also feed the inner wolves in others by how we treat them. I've seen children mistreating pitbulls before. You know where that story is leading. It's the same with people. At some point they either lose the ability or else choose to lose the ability of self control and will eventually lash out when provoked.

My grandma used to tell that story all the time. You're right a lot of wisdom.
