Greenery, At Last

There have been buds on the tree branches here for two or three weeks, but everything was just as bare, grey and lifeless as ever, when I left last weekend. Thursday evening, while landing, I could see a faint green haze in the trees ...

The leaves popped out on Friday, and are still getting larger. But at least they're green, and about time. It was really tough in Missouri, seeing everything in full summer foliage with grass in need of mowing again, knowing that I'd be returning to bare branches and last year's dead grass.

Except that the neighbor's yard is green, and the trees are, too. Now we await the melting of the last of the snow drifts, and summertime is here.

Amazing how fast the leaves come out once they get started. It seems so sudden. Nice to see it after a long winter.

Our lilac leaves just magically appeared this past week! Pretty neat how these things do eventually happen. Hope you're having a good weekend. I see your temp is 51!! Wow...really Springlike.

The swallows arrived yesterday too. Swallows make me happy. Welcome home, Rev.
