Rain, Rain

It's rained all night, and is still coming down - a light but steady drizzle. We rarely get anything resembling the soaking rains elsewhere, so a long period of light rain is the best we usually hope for.

The roads aren't slick this morning due to the all-night watering, so that's a good thing, too. But the best part is that buds starting forming on the trees a few days ago. With continued seasonal weather, we could have some greenery before long.

It's sometimes difficult to see green grass & trees on others' blogs, while Alaskan branches are bare and the ground is covered with last summer's dead grass. But that's okay. The explosion of thick, lush foliage here is intense when it happens, and makes our hearts sing.

It's one of the things that helps us continue surviving those long, cold winters. It's a very good thing.
