"Suspect arrested in nightclub shooting that left 2 wounded"

 A man suspected of shooting a security guard and patron early Sunday morning at Platinum Jaxx nightclub downtown fled the scene, but police arrested him Sunday evening after getting a call about his whereabouts.

Witnesses told police that Cook became upset when he was denied entry into Platinum Jaxx because he didn't have his ID. He returned a few minutes later with his ID but the security staff still didn't let him in because he was cursing and being verbally abusive, Parker said.

Cook left the nightclub a second time and returned with a pistol, police say. He shot a security officer outside the bar, and the bullet passed through the security officer's leg and struck a male patron in the hip, police say. Both men were taken to hospitals for treatment. Their gunshot wounds aren't considered life-threatening, police say.
