The false narrative is that the Tea Party is a bunch of stubborn nuts, if not outright racists. In truth, the Tea Party has been right about everything, while almost everyone else has been nuts, especially the "experts."
Minimum wage. One of the first things Democrats did after taking back Congress in 2007 was raise the federal minimum wage 41% from 2007 to 2009. Result? The unemployment rate went from 4.4% in May 2007 to 10.1% in 2009. It is 9.2% even today -- four years later.

The problem is that those that are calling us nuts (and a lot of nastier things) rely a lot on how things sound rather than on reality. If it sounds good it must be good so lets do it again even if it didn't work the first time...

Raise the minimum wage to $1,000,000 an hour. Then we will all be rich!!!1!

The more names they call us and the more they demagogue us, the more successful I believe we are.
Go Tea Party. Hold Congress, esp. the house, hostage until they actually start cutting spending and eliminating agencies, departments and programs right and left from the federal government that do not pass scrutiny pursuant to Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.
Insist that the 16th Amendment and the entire IRC be repealed and the IRS eliminated.
Insist that a Balanced Budget Amendment is passed and sent to the states which requires a super-majority vote in both houses of Congress before raising taxes or debt ceiling.
Insist that the Depts of Education and Energy be eliminated immediately. Frankly I'd like to see DHS and the TSA also eliminated.
America was suppose to be the "land of individual liberties" whose primary job it was the governments to protect. NOT a "nation of laws" used to prey upon the people to take their money, property and liberties.
I'm so pissed these days I can hardly see straight.
When can we start the hangings and shootings?
As a minimum, every current and former member of Congress should be required to forfeit all benefits as their reward for allowing our country to devolve into its present state - or hang.
