Their flier for the event said, "There will be shooting demonstrations of a wide array of shooting sports throughout the day: Cowboy Action, USPSA/IPSC, IDPA, Steel Challenge, Bull's‐eye, McKinley Mountain Men and machine gun." How could we pass that up?

MVS has the only indoor pistol/shotgun range in southcentral Alaska, as far as I can tell, as well as outdoor ranges for pistol and rifle. It's a nice place, run by a private club and volunteers.
The Mountain Men offered Jenny a chance to shoot a couple of their rifles, and Melanie took a stab (bad pun alert) at the tomahawk throw. She stuck it, too!
It was a fun day, we met new folks, and Melanie announced on the way home that she wanted to stop at the gun store because (drum roll, please) she wanted to buy a new handgun.
What did she get?
It's a Beretta Neos, a sweet little .22LR single-action semi-auto with a 6" barrel. It has an adjustable rear sight, ambi safety, and it looks like a daddy-daughter day at the pistol range, next weekend.
UPDATE: While Melanie (21) was showing her new toy to Mom and sister Samantha (15), she mentioned that .22 pistols don't really have any recoil, and they're not very loud ... and encourage Sam to go along next weekend.
At that point, my wife chimed in, "Yes, Sam, it's important that, since we have guns in the house, you should know how to operate them. We used to have another .22 pistol that I loved shooting." Sam said, "I'll go if you will." So suddenly, the trip to the range has gone from "the two of us" to "all four of us".
This is going to be fun.

Need a big "LIKE" button on these kinds of posts.
Best story you have wrote yet. I think I will have my oldest daughter to read it. I am trying to get her interested in self defense and firearms.
