It was a really good day, today. A number of projects that needed to be completed, were. Contracts were signed, deals closed, and everyone walked away happy.
A good day indeed.
This evening, we took a friend to the airport for a two-week getaway down south ... somewhere in New England, I think. Stopped on the way home from the airport and bought some cash cards for younger daughter Samantha to use while shopping in Hawaii; she'll be celebrating her 16th birthday while we're there, and the shopping is part of her present.
Friend Jenny is proceeding apace with her intro-slash-back story on the MHI Alaska story, "A Dish Served Cold" which I began here a couple of weeks ago. It all grew, of course, out of Larry Correia's contest to find new patches for MHI chapters around the country, to be featured in his next MHI novel. Samantha & I began brainstorming, and Jenny added her invaluable artwork - and now her writing, which I think is better than mine. Dang it. But she's good - very good - and you should check it out.
I was a bit reluctant to begin "fan fiction" based on the Monster Hunter International universe, and finally contacted Larry to find out if he would mind. He was very kind, and encouraged me to have fun. He's a class act, and if you haven't read his books, you're missing a treat. Anyway, scoot on over to Jenny's and check out part 2 of the back story, and we'll see where this goes.
It's going to be fun.
