Neat! I'd love to see a wild moose, although I imagine that in areas like yours they have the same status as white tailed deer have here - rats with antlers.

Pretty neat, I guess they make a mess of your car (or truck) if you hit one.

Bob - I'm glad you like it. It's a good one.

PH - moose are a source of fascination, here, even for long-time Alaskans. They're huge, for one thing.

Duke - yes, they will neatly total whatever you hit them with. A full-grown bull can weigh 1400 pounds. Think "horse with skinny legs" and you've got it.

Looks like a couple of 'small' ones... :-)

Old NFO - you're right; they look like yearlings.

I am so glad you have moose and we generally don't, but what a fantastic photo! Very lovely. (There was a moose in the town across the river a couple of years ago and the Darwin award type folks were trying to pet it. We stayed home and read about it in the paper. lol

Tourists and transplants all seem to think that the moose are petting-zoo exhibits for their personal enjoyment. One lady who tried to pet a moose cow last year (calves present) got trampled for her attempt.

Most Alaskans look at a moose and think, "Lunch!"
