A man was shot and killed during a fight Sunday night north of Willow, Alaska State Troopers said ... Investigators believe two men were fighting at the home when one produced a small-caliber pistol.

The man fired a single shot, apparently trying to put a stop to the assault, troopers said. The gunshot struck the other man  ... in the head, killing him, according to a trooper report. Prosecutors reviewed the case and made a preliminary decision not to arrest the suspected shooter ...

A 20-year-old Pennsylvania man has agreed to plead guilty to a federal charge of making harassing phone calls in a case involving Sarah Palin's lawyers and threats against Palin and others.

A young woman in the western Alaska village of Aniak died of exposure Sunday, Alaska State Troopers reported. Candi Nickolie, 22, had been drinking with friends and walked several friends home, Troopers said. Her body was found frozen about 150 feet from where she lived.
