Friday Morning

Good morning! Thanksgiving Day was a good one at the ol' homestead, with all the traditional accoutrements: turkey, two kinds of stuffing (with and without raisins), the ubiquitous green bean casserole which is so popular these days, and Samantha's sweet potato pie with real whipped cream. None of this was canned or pre-cooked, and our place smelled mighty nice during the morning hours.

And because I was asked: the pies were spectacularly good. The sweet potato filling was literally as creamy and light as the whipped cream itself. (And notice I said was...)

During the day, we also received close to 4 inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Today, we're greeting by this little announcement from AccuHunch:
The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect until 10 PM akst this
evening.

* Snow... an additional 4 to 9 inches of snow is expected to fall
through this evening.
That means I get to play with my new snow blower - and on my day off, so I can be the first to use it. :)

So we're a bunch of happy campers here at Casa del Pablo - wife & youngest will be hanging Christmas decorations, and our oldest & I will be on the road for awhile, running errands. The only store I'm going to visit will be Big Box Hardware, as we pick up one sale item, some extension cords, and sundries.

Happy snow day, y'all!
