A Snowy Monday Morning

Haven't we already had a Monday this month?

Oh. Right.

Anchorage received about 8" of new snow over the weekend. It was 9.25" at my place, but we live on the southwest side of town, which catches the leading edge of the snow as it comes up Cook Inlet. It was snowing briskly as I drove to work this morning, and the weatherman predicts we'll have several more hours of snow and flurries before this wave moves on. Lows near zero tonight, too, he guesses, with more snow in a couple of days.

This is starting to remind me of Winter 2003/2004, when we got roughly double the normal amount of snow. Had snow on the ground until the end of May '04.

There's not much local news to report. On a personal note, the 'new' car is just about ready to license. Dustin the Mechanic says it should be good to go (literally) by the the end of today.

Y'all have a good day, my friends. Thanks for stopping by.

As much as I think Alaska is beautiful, I just don't think I could live there.
Between the snow, the cold, and the long darkness, I think I'd go BONKERS!

Long darkness. End result - severe alcoholism and depression. Also would result in my being institutionalized. I already don't like November.
