Winter continues to blow its frosty breath across this portion of the Great Land as temps have dropped to -10 or so. 10 below is five degrees warmer than yesterday, so we welcome the (ahem) warmer readings.
There's not much on our agenda today: our morning walk & workout at The Dome ... casual lunch at home ... we're going to hear the Anchorage Symphony perform Holst's "The Planets" this afternoon, along with the latest videos and photos from NASA, the Hubble telescope, and the Voyager satellite. While the music is enjoyable, I'm more interested in the pictures.
This morning, the living room is filled with the sounds of coffee cups in various levels of "filled with the nectar of life", the rustle of the Sunday paper (the only one I'll even glance at, these days), and a quiet discussion of where to dine after the concert, this evening.
Just another January morning where it's cold, snowy and frozen outside ... but inside, the warmth of family surrounds us.

Can't ask for better than that Rev! Enjoy the day!
So where did you dine, if you don't mind my asking.

Velcro8ball, we checked the waiting times at Orso & the Brewhouse (1.5 hours) and wound up at City Diner, where there was no line.
I guess I'm putting together a list of places to try when we return to Anchorage. We did the Brewhouse last summer and enjoyed. Our first time there. We were with friends who have been going to Alaska for the last 10 years, we put our souls in their hands for the trip. We're thinking of seeing the panhandle via cruise this year, seemed the best way to get an overview. Sorry to take up so many bits.

velcro8ball: the next time you visit Anchorage, you should try Simon & Seafort's (also downtown). We love that place, and they have the best key lime pie!
Our friends took us there the second day. I'm afraid I was too full from dinner to have any dessert. We had a day and a half by ourselves when we left Homer for our return to the lower 48. We went to Marx Brothers for dinner, that was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The service, the food and the staffs attention to you is mind boggling. We had breakfast at Snow City the next day, that was good food and fun. I would like to have had the time to do justice to the beer selection at Humpys, but alas it was not to be. I hope to get back.
