but I was mightily annoyed when I wrote the previous post. There is a good preliminary report, though: the gentleman in question responded very quickly to the e-mail I sent him, and promised to make good on all his promises. Today.

Time will tell, but at least he wrote back.

The Iron Dog snowmachine race is well underway; 31 teams left Big Lake yesterday morning and have reach McGrath already. The race covers some 2,000 miles, heading toward Fairbanks. These two-man teams take a pounding, reaching speeds of 100 mph on frozen river beds along the way.
