but the 2" of snow in mid-town today turned into 6 1/2" at my house on the south edge of town. I'm waiting to hear what the NWS has to say about it.
Funny thing is, the heavy stuff just begins about a block north of my house; I stepped out of the truck while ago & my feet disappeared.
Younger Daughter just went out to run the snow-thrower in the driveway. Since she'd been planning to make something else for dinner, I guess we'll be eating out tonight.
Darn the bad luck, eh?
Update: the NWS has issued a winter weather advisory for Anchorage, calling for another 4" to 8". It appears we're going to set that new record tonight.

It will be 90 here tomorrow.
You have my sympathy. It may be to your taste (and I hope for your sake that it is) but that's WAY too warm for us.
Temps were in the 70's here today. Folks were walking around in shorts today. Last week we had snow. Where'd winter go? Seriously, we'll be running the ceiling fans tonight to stay cool.
Went to the park today to do some fishing. Somebody had put some green dye in a storm drain running into the river. Guess someone is getting a bit antsy for St. Patrick's day.
Things there are going to be seriously mushy where you live when all that snow starts melting.
At least you'll know that your water table won't be a concern this year.
