We ate a leisurely breakfast and then headed out to the gym for a brisk walk & then a workout. My shoulders are sore already -
Now I'm going to hang a new mirror in the main bathroom, then widen the curtain rod in younger daughter's room. After that ... well, let's take it one step at a time, shall we?

It's sunny & clear again today, if cold, but AccuHunch is guessing we'll get more snow during the coming week. It's only March, after all.
In the spring of 2004 ("spring" being a relative term) when we got 115" of snow, there was still snow in shaded areas on June 1st. We have 126 inches now, and what's on the ground is compacted to roughly three feet.
That three feet of dense snow weighs about 60 psf, and older, flat commercial roofs have started collapsing, around town. The snow on my building's roof is a little less deep, since we're the high spot in a 'bowl', and the wind has blown some of the snow off again. It's about 30" deep, there. Here's a picture from Friday morning as I open the door onto the roof:
| My 26" step down onto the roof is missing! :) |
Need to keep an eye on that.

The first four Iditarod mushers are into Unalakleet this morning, and Aliy Zirkle is still 49 minutes ahead of Dallas Seavey in the second spot. The race is really on, now, as they've reach the point of fatigue where racers fall asleep on their sleds. Ms. Zirkle, so the story goes, is maintaining her slim lead by having learned how to doze along the trail without falling deeply asleep.
Thanks for stopping by.
