No jokes here.
You use what you're comfortable and practice with, and especially what fits your hand.

| I've never thought of the full-size 1911 as a "big" pistol. Now you know why. |
It fits very comfortably in my hand. In fact, my trigger finger can reach around the front of the trigger guard. I had trouble getting used to how close the trigger was to my palm, when I first got it - it's a LOT smaller than the wheelgun I used to carry.

WOW! I have small hands. I can't get to the slide stop lever without adjusting my grip with the strong hand on a 1911.
I still love them though! =)
oh, +1 on the CT laser!
Here I thought I had big hands. Shucks, bet you had to have custom made baseball gloves...
Keads, before getting the laser, I had some really fat Hogue grips on the pistol, just to fill my hands up a bit.
Stephen, I do have trouble finding gloves with the fingers long enough.
Rev. Paul,
I carry a big gun, a 1911, because I shoot better with it. I never thought much about why, but big hands may be part of the reason.

Clearly, this just means you need to buy an even bigger pistol. Or maybe two :)
PolyKahr, big hands can be a blessing and a curse (so to speak), but they sure don't hurt when it comes to cradling a weapon.
Jenny, THAT is definitely food for thought. Hmm.
