It's a milestone of sorts, although I'm not sure of its significance.
The last couple of nights have been nearly dark due to heavy cloud cover. I mention it because this is the time of year when it really doesn't get dark. Sunrise was at 4:23 this morning, and sunset will be 11:36. Because the sun doesn't dip far below the horizon, it's still light enough to go walking an hour before sunrise, and an hour or more after sunset. In between (when the sky is clear), it gets dusky but not dark.
Our cool, rainy weather continues, and AccuHunch guesses we'll have rain later this morning. It rained yesterday evening for awhile, and again overnight. We'll probably get into the mid-50s today, but no warmer. We should be about 10 degrees warmer than that, and I wish we could share a bit of the chill & rain with folks down south (Arizona, New Mexico, and anywhere else it's too hot & too dry).
There was another hiker mauled by a brown bear on Sunday, north of Anchorage in Eagle River. He climbed a tree to get away from it, and is recovering. To quote from this morning's paper: "The count since just mid-May is two mauled men, one dead llama and three dead bears."
Sorry I don't have more to report this a.m. Have a great day, folks.

You have a good one too Rev.!
Not sure I would like the Alaska version of long days, but I sure do like em here in NY. Congrats on the posts! Impressive!
Yay 2.5k!
Congrats on the 2,500!
Thanks, everyone. The only remaining issue now is, do I keep on trying? Or just retire the keyboard?
IF you retire from this blog, I invite you to do guest posts on the GBBL.
Rev Paul - I'd take GBBL up on that! I've been too swamped to even think about it, but you would do a wonderful job for them!
Congratulations on the milestone.
GBBL - I'm honored to be asked. Thank you.
Brigid - Thank you; that means a lot, coming from you.
