Yesterday's milestone (admittedly a minor one) of 2,500 posts is of significance only to me. I've looked back over the last few months' production and note that I'm writing less, and linking more. There are plenty of other bloggers who have elevated the "linky love" thing to a fine art, and one more or less won't make that big a difference.
I'm going into semi-retirement, meaning that I'll write if something grabs my attention - almost a certainty in an election year, especially this election year - but otherwise will hold my tongue fingers. I'll still be reading all my favorites every day, and will continue to comment as before.
In closing, there's this:

Aw, amn..What is it with you Alaskans? You write great blogs, get everyone else hooked, and then just...
But ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Drop in and see what Murphy's up to when you can, and any posts you put up will be appreciated.
We'll miss Alaska updates, but as long as you promise not to go completely away I guess we understand.

An occasional post is cool. I'm not feeling the desire to write very much myself currently. I've only pulled off 270ish posts. It comes in spurts for me. When it does it's fun but when you aren't feeling it, it's a chore. I suppose if I was paid well to write I'd just slug it out but I'm not. Just keep a presence if you can. It's all I'm doing these days.
