thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in
authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness
and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 NIV

God is still in charge.
The president just thinks that he is.
Amen!
We might want to keep in mind that Obama is not a King . . . . he just thinks he is. And, sadly, he will not leave us in peace.
Matt is correct. Officials are put in charge as a delegation of God's authority (Romans 13). That official, however, is answerable to God for any abuse of power.
Thank you, Sandy.
eiaftinfo, you're correct, too. His intention is to rule us - but God may have other plans. Truly it's said, "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans." What the government wants, and what it receives, may be two entirely different things.
What Matt said.

Guffaw, thank you.
