Lots going on. We've had a freezing fog with some melting of the snow, and everything is slicker than grease on a doorknob. Kinda like walking/driving in axle grease. Fun stuff.
The weatherman guesses we'll get some more snow this weekend; about time for that, too. We're still a foot below normal, and without that moisture it will be a dangerous summer for wildfires. Of course, in my 10 years here, we've seen years where over a million acres was burning ... and not a single mention on the so-called national news.
Alaska still isn't important to the talking heads, unless they can work in a nasty dig as Sarah Palin.
Tell you what: we have $43 billion (that's with a B) in the State's savings account. Maybe we should buy ourselves, and go independent. Whaddya think?
Make talk-talk later.

From the way things are starting to look in the lower 48, Texas and Alaska may be getting substantial numbers of immigrants in the next few years. These two states IMHO still epitomize what it really means to be a good old-fashioned, God-fearing, armed and free American.
Just my 2 cents.
Agreed, Sarge. I love it here & can't imagine leaving for ANY reason.
Watch the Feds find a way to raid your state surplus.
WSF, nothing they do surprises me very much, anymore. Indignation or outrage, yes, but not surprise.
If it was just a 'bit' warmer... (like 30-40 degrees)... sigh
Alaska sure is beautiful country, and cold but Texas is warm, maybe a thought to return.
NFO, that's been our problem, here: it was 30 today, and will be 31 tomorrow. Should be 10 or 15 degrees colder, and snowing.
Sandy, Texas is too warm for my Alaskan blood, but I'd never begrudge anyone for wanting to go there. :)
