If You're Looking for Work ...

... the City of Homer, Alaska needs a new Executive Director for its Chamber of Commerce.

"The Spit", a three-mile long stretch sand & gravel bank deposited by retreating glaciers, thousands of years ago.

Homer's located 220 miles south of Anchorage, at the southern terminus of the Alaska Highway. "The end of the Spit" is local for "as far as you can drive."

Located on Kachemak Bay, Homer is one of the most beautiful and scenic places we've ever visited. There could be worse places to live, ya know.

Homer is a beautiful place. I have never been there, I've seen many pictures.

The Wife would never go for it.

Sandy, it's gorgeous - and the wildlife! Porpoise & orcas in the summer, the fresh halibut, thousands of bald eagles in the early spring ... breath-taking.

Preppy, I understand. Mine fought the suggestion for 20 years, but we've been here for 10 years now - and she loves it.

Late 70's, involved in a construction project there. One of the better three weeks I've had.

NFO, I understand. You need to visit in mid- to late July, or early August. It's beautiful - and warm - then.

WSF, it's a great place to spend time, and I'm glad you got a chance to see it.
