Pilot Survives Willow Lake Plane Crash

Man Survives Float Plane Crash at Willow Lake (James W. Riley / June 10, 2013)


Alaska State Troopers say a floatplane's pilot and sole occupant was uninjured after the aircraft crashed and flipped on a lake in the Mat-Su Valley Monday afternoon.

According to AST spokesperson Megan Peters, troopers were informed of the crash on Willow Lake, near Mile 70 of the Parks Highway, just after 3:17 p.m. Monday.

“Essentially, the plane’s flipped -- I don’t know if it was on takeoff or landing,” Peters said.

That's pretty amazing. But I bet that water was COLD!

With all the sun we've been having, PH, the first couple feet are warm-ish. Underneath that is still pretty cold. :)

That fella climgin' outta there doesn't look like a kid, either.
When this happens to my hubby, he just climbs out of his chair, turns off his flight simulator and comes to bed :)
