My husband said thank you for sharing this post with us. He worked at that postal site just off the side there next to where those water planes came in.

Sandy, you can tell your husband that I'm happy to share. I love those planes, too, and have spent many happy hours at Lake Hood, watching the floatplanes comes & go.

drjim, it's a Grumman Goose; the Seabee has a center-mounted pusher prop.

Agreed, Kelly. Those old planes give me goosebumps, no matter how many times I see 'em.
