we should also remember that it's not hopeless. No matter how dark the times, no matter how dire the news, we should remember what Jesus said.

After telling His disciples about "signs of the end of the age", He said:

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33, KJV)

Or the same verse in modern English:

I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”  (The Message)
