The Stuart Creek 2 fire, which was ignited by Army artillery exercises last month, had burned 79,000 acres as of 2 a.m. Monday, up from 40,000 acres on Sunday morning. It is 5 percent contained, according to Michelle Weston, a spokeswoman for the state's Interagency Coordination Center.

Crews are currently focused on holding the fire on the south side of the Chena River. The community of Two Rivers is on the other side. Weston said 884 homes were at risk.

Your not in the path are you?

No, Senior, we're safe. That fire's some 350 miles north of us.

Rev. Paul,

I'm glad to hear your home is not at risk. So sorry to hear about all the property destroyed and homes at risk.
