URGENT CALL TO REPENTANCE: All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord. And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee. For the Kingdom is the Lord’s and He rules among the nations. (Psalm 22:27-28)

For Those of You in the Heat or Drought
here's what a cool, rainy morning looks like in Anchorage:

Taken around 7:30 this morning, from the roof. I wish I could show it to all of you in person; this cell phone doesn't do the scenery any justice at all.
DPR, I wish I could. The sun has come out here this evening, and it's rocketed all the way up to 63 degrees. But it was raining hard before that, and there's more on the way.
Thank you, Teresa. A better camera would have picked up more of the greens and blues, and the individual peaks - but with such a scenic view, it's hard to take a bad picture. :)
A couple days ago, I had the windows rolled down on the way to work, enjoying the cool, crisp air with a hint of fall, and watching birds flock in the hundreds to thousands as they rose for their next migration leg. It was spectacular, though I was mildly wishing I had a jacket on... the time & temp sign said 6:32 AM, 82F.
Yeah, I've acclimatized to the south. And yet, pictures like this make my heart hurt for homesickness.

Fall has fell up there... :-)
Indeed it did, NFO, and with a dull thud.
Rub it in why don't 'ya....
Sorry, brother, but it's all we've had for over a month. :)
Bah, we have cold cloudy days here in Texas too. Roughly 3 a decade or so, yuk yuk yuk...
It was 105 here today. Even the rocks were sweating! Getting grass fires too. Just send some rain this way brother!

Well at least September is bringing the cooler nights now even if the days are still hot and dry.
By January we will look back to this Summer with longing.
To look at that view is worth all the rain. Those mountains are magnificent! They must be absoultly beautiful in the winter.
Even a rainy morning provides beauty. Nice pic.
Pretty spectacular!

Rev. Paul,
Beautiful picture! Cell phone cameras aren't all they're cracked up to be when taking pictures. There designed to really just be phones.
Preppy, when we have our January stretch of -20 or colder, even November's moderately cool temps will seem like a dream.
Thanks, Chickenmom. I'll use a better camera next time, and definitely show when the snows begin to appear on the peaks.
Thanks, joated & gfa. The mountains are beautiful, any time of year.
Thanks, Sandy.
Gorgeous - even with a cell phone!

Wing, if y'all ever decide to visit Alaska again, you'd be welcome.
I'm glad you liked the picture. After 45 years in the St. Louis, I never acclimated to the summer heat. I believe I've been an Alaskan all my life. :)
