In between everything else in a normal Monday, I was devouring Peter Grant's new book. It's quite gripping - and occasionally uncomfortably real - and it took me away from any other sites I peruse for blog material.
"Gritty" gets over-used these days, but this unvarnished description of what it's really like on the inside ... well, I will write a review when I'm done, but for now I can tell you that if you want to know what it's like behind the walls of our prison system, you must read Walls, Wire, Bars and Souls.

Thanks for the kind words, Sir. Let me know how you like it when you finish.
I'm not sure whether there's a Federal prison in Alaska - I don't think so. You have State and local prisons, right?
You're quite welcome, Peter. Yes, there's a city "correctional facility" and a large State prison south of Wasilla, among others.
Rev. Paul,
I always like hearing about a book along with it's review. It intrigues me to want to read the book you've reviewed.
Me, too, Sandy. I'm about 80% of the way through it now, so the review should appear in another day or so.
